History of Keyhole Duck Calls

The beginning of it all

My very first two duck calls that I got when I was a kid. On the left a hand tuned Olt by June Tweedle, and on the right a hand made call by June Tweedle from the early 1990's.

My mom would take me to his house on forrest lane, in El Dorado where he made the calls.

June Tweedle

June is originally from Clarendon, but moved to Union County to work at the local oil refinery as a gauger.

June Tweedles's Olt

June used tygon to hold the call on the lanyard. This call was cut in roughly 1961-1962.

My Grandpa, my hunting mentor and bestfriend, got me his personal call lanyard in 1999 when he retired from hunting. This call is what really taught me how to use a cutdown duck call and gave me my inspiration to cut black Olt duck calls and strive to find that perfect duck sound.

First cut Olt

This is my personal Olt that I cut in a college dorm room in Montecello, Arkansas with my best friend Scotty Watkins. Around the turn of the century and has been the driving force behind Keyhole Duck Calls.

The very first KHDC

Made in 2014, the barrel is african blackwood and the insert of a hand made mold out of a compound similar to a screwdriver handle.

First machine cut keyhole call

In 2016, this call was machined out of a 2x4

First machined acrylic keyhole

Machined in 2016 in Smackover, Arkansas, ahead of the game at the time. Then the program writer lost my jig and programs upon a shocking death. Which out this new venture on hold for several years.

Here we are today

Keyhole Duck Calls is back better than ever starting with 4 call options. The Genesis Acrylic Keyhole, The Acrylic Menace Round Hole, a molded Original Keyhole, and a molded Menace.
